When it comes to lentils, I have to come clean. Speaking very personally here, I have horrible memories of eating them when I was younger (okay a lot younger). And, I admit to being guilty of carrying that, ahem, slight prejudice against them into my adult life. The thought of lentils brought shivers up my spine - tasteless, mushy and generally very unappealing are words that come to mind when I remember this dinner option, either in the form of a patty or loaf. It would be shoved to the side of my plate and ignored for the duration of the meal, if at all possible.
A few months back, I shared instructions on how to make your own Kombucha Tea. I've been experimenting with different flavors by doing what is called the 'second ferment'; the picture featured is a glass of delicious Raspberry Kombucha that I brewed two weeks ago. It's easy to and a lot less expensive than buying it. And, the sky is the limit on flavors you can add - lemon-ginger, orange-cinnamon, raspberry-lemon are just a few I have tried.
Okay, so I have been talking about sweetness this week. In case you missed it, a few days ago I posted a recipe for Chocolate Oat Squares - quick and easy to put together and throw in the oven. Many of us can still confess to a sweet tooth. Nothing wrong with that if it is kept in a healthy perspective. Like anything in life, it's about knowledge and control - this gives us the power to make wise choices (in many arenas of life).
