"Yummy, yummy, yummy, I got love in my tummy
and I feel like a-lovin' you.
Love, you're such a sweet thing, good enough to eat thing;
And it's just a-what I'm gonna do."
Funny, as I sit here on this cool and wet April day, the memory of those lyrics came rushing into to my head - seemingly out of nowhere - many years having lapsed since I listened to the Archies singing this song!
The Archies also had another song called "Sugar, Sugar". Perhaps that's why they popped into my mind. You know sometimes, we just need a little more sweetness infused into our lives. Not to go all crazy on you, but let's face it, a little treat here or there goes a long way. And yes, I fully realize excessive consumption of sugar is not good for any of us. But life is meant to be sweet and there are many ways to prepare treats so that they are yummy, satisfying and not too difficult to prepare.
Here's a very simple little recipe that comes to mind. It has a bit of chocolate in it (always good for the spirits) and boasts of being gluten-free. Perhaps it might just be something you would enjoy with a warm cup of tea or coffee on this cool, wet spring day.
Ok, there seems to be a theme this week with me - more seeds! And without further adieu, here's another delicious recipe for crackers that are loaded with four different seeds and no gluten.
These patties take a little bit of work but they really are delicious and loaded with wonderful, healthy nutrients.
I couldn't NOT speak briefly about the attributes of the black beans, one of the key players in this recipe. Take a minute to read about the wonderful benefits of this legume.
